Q: How did globalization and privatization change the freedom of media ?

Ans: It is true that the Press is free, yet it is subject to some justifiable constraints set by the Constitution of India, 1950, as amended ("Constitution"). This is because India practices parliamentary democracy. Before the effects of globalization , the government had complete control over the mass media, permitting it to broadcast just the information that the government wanted the public to see and in the manner in which it wanted the public to view it. However, once globalization and privatization set in, the situarion has become drastically changed.
